  Nice looking restaurant but entirely strange experience. Husband's medium well steak was charcoal and the remake was rare. My scallops had sand in them but the shrimp and pasta in my seafood pasta was good. Kid's roasted carrots were cold on the inside. Ok but not worth the price. Kitchen and wait staff need some improvement.

  Definitely not what we expected. For a supposedly finer restaurant food was ok nothing to warrant the prices charged. The steaks should have melted in your mouth, but were had more gristle than flavor. Service was sub par at best. Forgot one order completely and part of another then had to remind waiter to fill the glasses of water. I can over look somethings when a restaurant is busy but when half full and service was that bad something is wrong. My advice don't spend the money to eat here.

  I am extremely disappointed in our first and last ever visit to Gilbey's. After the hostess seated us and served us water, we waited 20 minutes and no one else spoke to us. The table that was sat after us had their orders taken, but we were never even acknowledged. My husband is the manager of a fine dining restaurant in Gadsden, AL, so we are very understanding when it comes to shift change; but it is ridiculous to never ever be acknowledged. We left without ordering... Bubba's Seafood, here we come!
